The effect of different doses of retinyl palmitate (vitamin A) on placental volume in rats

Pregnant rats were divided into 6 groups between gestation day 10 12. first group received 10.000 IU/kg, second 20.000 third 50.000 fourth 100.000 IU/kg fifth 200.000 IU/ kg oral A. control 1 ml corn oil same days. On 19 gestation, placentas collected 5 µm sections stained with Massons’s trichrome. volumes total decidua estimated using Cavalieri estimation method.
